Great Decisions is a national discussion program developed by the Foreign Policy Association. Each week, participants will watch a short video and engage in instructor-led discussions on current global issues. Topics for 2026 include U.S. foreign policy, tariffs and the global economy, U.S.-China relations, nuclear proliferation risks, Ukraine and European security, changing international institutions, U.S.-Africa relations, and the future of human rights and international law.

Building on previous discussions of World War II-era dictators, this course examines authoritarian leaders of the postwar world. Explore how modern dictators adapted strategies from earlier regimes while using new technologies and media to gain and maintain power. We’ll also consider why democratic societies often underestimate the methods used to manipulate institutions and consolidate authority.

This four-session series explores different perspectives on the Holocaust. Topics include the role of eugenics and racism, a personal story of escape from Nazi Germany, the inspiring survival story of an Auschwitz survivor, and the courageous actions of non-Jews who risked their lives to save others. Through history and personal accounts, participants will gain a deeper understanding of this tragic period. Classes meet: October 8, October 15, October 22, and October 29
