Spend time looking at, discussing, and making art at the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art. Each session will focus on a different artwork, artist, theme, or creative technique as participants explore the Museum’s collection through close looking, conversation, and hands-on art-making. Come prepared to flex your creative muscles, experiment with new materials and ideas, and discover fresh sources of inspiration in a welcoming, low-pressure environment designed for all experience levels. NOTE: This program is free andtakes place at the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art from October 13 through November 17.

Perfect for those who have never knitted or haven’t picked up needles in years. Learn to knit, purl, read patterns, and master basic knitting skills while creating a dishcloth. Bring to the first class: #7 knitting needles (straight or circular) and one skein of solid-colored 100% cotton yarn (such as Sugar and Cream or Peaches and Cream). Avoid spending a lot on supplies.

Whether you’re new to watercolor or looking to build on existing skills, this class offers a fun and supportive environment for learning basic watercolor techniques through a variety of projects. Students will explore color, brushwork, and composition while developing confidence in their artistic abilities. Materials will be available at FLI. A materials list will also be sent prior to the first class for those who wish to purchase their own supplies. Co-taught by Nancy Barr.
